CD Review, Giveaway, and Miss Amy's Winter Fitness Tips
No excuses pop rock fusion of music motivation
for you and your family!
I remember with fondness when I went to my first Miss Amy music show. My daughter was a few weeks old, and it was the first time that just the two of us went out. Feeling cooped up and lonely on a cold winter day, I bundled up my daughter and nervously drove to a local library hoping to meet some other moms. I wasn’t expecting to have such a fun time, but as soon as Miss Amy started the show, I fell in love with her music! Her lyrics are captivating, and with ease and patience she can get dozens of kids dancing and exercising. It was a very special day, dancing with my baby girl to Miss Amy’s lovely music for the first time. After the show, I felt so free and happy. Since then we’ve been to tons of her shows, have met lots of other families, and we always leave with a smile. We are big fans of Miss Amy!
Miss Amy just released a new CD, Fitness Rock & Roll! When she asked me to review it, I was so excited (& a bit star-struck since she is a local celebrity!) Every afternoon, we have “Dance Party Time” in my house, and this week we’ve been dancing and exercising to Fitness Rock & Roll. Within seconds of playing the first song, "Rise and Shine Little Star," we were singing along and dancing around the living room. All the lyrics are easy for little ones to understand and every song encourages movement. My one-year-old was bopping around, while my four-year-old was following along with Miss Amy’s directions -- waving, shaking, putting her knees up, and rolling around. My daughter’s favorite songs are “Wish For Snow” and “Egg Roll,” but you’ll have a hard time picking your favorite songs from this CD, because they are all so fun!
Miss Amy has given us an autographed copy of her new CD, Fitness Rock & Roll to give away to a very lucky Macaroni Kid reader. Enter HERE for a chance to win! Contest ends at midnight on December 1st!

Miss Amy was also gracious enough to answer a few questions for Macaroni Kid readers.
Macaroni Kid: What is your favorite song to perform from your new Fitness Rock & Roll CD?
Miss Amy: Wow - that's really hard to choose because I really love them all! Right now my favorite is “Down To The River.” I have incorporated balance poses, yoga stretches, and some jump training into this one and I enjoy watching the creative license the kids take when acting out different animals! Check out my FREE lesson plans online (www.MissAmyKids.com) - where I include suggested activities and a BeneFIT™ or fitness focus for each song.
Macaroni Kid: What is your favorite park in the Mercer County area and what types of fun outdoor fitness activities do you like to do there with your family?
Miss Amy: We've hiked Baldpate Mountain, attended activities at the Howell Living History Farm, ice-skated at Mercer County Park and attended summer cub scout camp at Rosedale. We are very lucky to have access to so many wonderful parks in our area! However, the one our family utilizes the most is right in our neighborhood! We walk up and either run the path or ride our bikes.
I also asked Miss Amy if she had any family fitness advice for the colder months ahead and she shared some GREAT Tips for Keeping Your Family Active and Fit During the Winter. See her tips HERE.Thank you Miss Amy for entertaining so many families in our community (& beyond) and for being a health and fitness role model for our children!
