Free virtual events to celebrate the holidays through New Year's Eve

We ended up having a very COVID Christmas at our house, which means we've been spending a LOT of time at home! I know we're far from alone — whether sickness, travel woes, or weather, many of us had disrupted plans this holiday. I hope, most importantly, you've stayed safe — and if sick, are recovering quickly.

If you do find yourself at home more this week than anticipated or just need to keep the kids entertained for a few hours, we've rounded up free virtual events and inspirational at-home fun to help:

1. Gather Together To Celebrate Kwanzaa

Join in an evening of song, dance, poetry, community, and joy to celebrate Kwanzaa at this virtual free event. Dec. 28

We're back at the New York Public Library! Children ages 7-10 can learn a recipe and make a craft at this fun, free online get-together with the New York Public Library! Register now as there are limited spaces available for this free virtual event. Dec. 30

3. Aargh! New Year's Eve Fun With the Story Pirates

Are you familiar with the Story Pirates? 4. Rockin' in The New Year With the Seattle Aquarium

Dance, learn and HAVE FUN at the free and virtual Seattle Aquarium's Rockin' Rockfish Noon Year's Eve celebration, though if you live west of the Pacific Time Zone, you might have to get up early for this fun! Dec. 31
