We have been Hamilton residence since May 2015, 3 days before our son was born. Yes, we were crazy haha. When our son was born, I researched fun mommy and me activities to do. The Y was the first thing to come to mind and the first thing we did. He started swim class January when he was 7 months. After that we did all kinds of classes. We did little rookies, little athletes, and so many others. Now that he is 5, I was hoping to get him involved in fencing, karate, learn to swim independently, and so much more. The last program we did was SKOR swimming. He was finally going to learn how to swim independently. They held one class before the shut down. This is a picture of him absolutely loving it and he really took well to his coach immediately (which is a rarity to happen for Thomas).
It really is a perfect place for families. So when I found out the other day of their possible closing, to say I was shocked and devastated was a understatement. Not only does my heart break for us, but for the rest of the Y family, the other local families and all of the employees.
For those of you that may not have known what the Hamilton YMCA has to offer, there is a lot! They have the main branch which is the JKR branch that is located on Whitehorse, the Cranbrook building and the awesome Sawmill location where they have their outdoor public pool.
